Alt. Commissioner asked for clarification on how many students were expected; Ms. Weichert stated that the school would accommodate 1500 students once all phases are completed. Phase I will have approximately 112 students per grade making the total of students by the first year at 300 students.
Commissioner Umphlett asked for the drainage direction; Loop 1604 or to the rear of the property. Ms. Weichert stated the natural topography of the land will allow drainage to flow east to the rear of the property and into the existing detention basin. Umphlett asked for clarification on the barrier between the property and the residential properties; Ms. Lowder verified a commercial property abutting a residential development will require an eight foot fence between them. It would be Great Hearts responsibility to build the barrier.
Alt. Commissioner Woppert asked if TXDOT had reviewed the expected additional traffic for future traffic lights at Lookout Road and Gateway; Ms. Weichert stated she presumes TXDOT will evaluate the option for a light in the future. She continued by stating that the initial study traffic study completed, a traffic signal would be warranted to continue proper traffic flow at Gateway Blvd.
