A. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING A RECOMMENDATION FOR A SIGN VARIANCE REQUEST: Variance request #V-17-003: The property owner has submitted a variance request to the City’s sign regulations authorized in Subdivision Zoning Ordinance, Appendix B-Sign Regulations, Sections 3.10, 5.3, 6.3, 10.2 for the erection of a pylon sign, building sign, seasonal banner, parking area, trademark pole banners and color flags. The property is known as IKEA in the Live Oak Town Center, Live Oak, Texas 78233. The said property is situated along the North side of IH 35 Frontage Road approximately 25 feet West of McMorris Blvd. and IH 35 Frontage Road.
Mayor Pro-Tem opened the Joint Public Hearing at 7:05 p.m. and read the legal description for the record.
Jordan Matney, Assistant City Manager introduced the Public Hearing item by stating that the Variance request #V-17-003 is just a step in the process to get IKEA moving forward. She reminded the Council and Commission that variances to the sign ordinance are reviewed by the Planning & Zoning Commission for consideration. The decision during the regular meeting of the Planning & Zoning Commission would be presented to City Council for consideration at the regular city council meeting on August 29. Ms. Matney introduced Rosalyn Holderfield to make the presentation.
