• Updates to the 2020 Comprehensive Plan began in January 2019 with Council creating a Comprehensive Planning Advisory Committee (CPAC) and hiring a consulting firm, Freese & Nichols to produce the new 2040 Comprehensive Plan
• The CPAC members, consultants, staff held a stakeholders meeting with representatives from various industries including business and economic development, institutional interest, transportation and community and cultural interests in March 2019
• “Big Ideas Workshop” hosted at the Hilton Garden Inn where the community was invited to provide thoughts, feedback or opinions about the current state of Live Oak.
• Online survey was launched to conduct the opinions from a greater audience.
• CPAC met each month making changes and reviews to reach a final 

• Thanked the community for the input and attendance at the workshop and online surveys
• The 2040 Comprehensive Plan is organized into 7 Chapters with an Appendix

• Proposed amendments to the City’s Zoning Code removing masonry and other construction standards for commercial, residential and accessory building construction requirements;
• Replacing the existing standards with the national model code standards for product, material, or aesthetic method as published in a national model code published within the last three code cycles.

• On the advice of legal counsel, amendments to the subdivision regulations will be placed on a future agenda
• The only item for discussion is the masonry requirements and the ability to enforce them.
• The proposed changes to the Zoning Code is to provide compliance with laws adopted by the Texas Legislature in the 2019 session

Mr. Hornes asked to clarify any of the information from his previous presentation during the public hearing and added staff’s recommendation is to make a motion to Council to approve the amendment to the masonry requirements in the City’s Zoning Regulations; hearing none, Chairman Kochan called for a motion.
